I make rocks.
The rocks are found river rocks that make the basic shape, I first cover them with a slab of clay. When leather hard, the rock is removed and a slab of clay added as a base, creating a closed form that, at this point, can be paddled and shaped to emprise the rock form found both in the original rock and the clay.
 
I let the clay speak thru me,  indicating the finished rock shape wanting to be created.
Some of the rocks will have a feminine presence, for when I think of earth I think of Gaia, mother earth. The rocks form a circle, some touching and some loose, to show the interconnectedness of all beings.

The process of making the rocks is a form of meditation, quieting my mind and bringing balance to daily life.
 
I wish to share these rocks with you, the viewer, by allowing them to be taken from the gallery and relocated to a location of your choice. Some ideas: a favorite trail head, rock garden, vegetable garden, even within your home. I would appreciate a donation of any amount be given to the gallery when a rock is removed.
